Núria Sabaté holds a B.A. in Hispanic Philology from the Universitat de Lleida in Catalonia, Spain, where she also received her teaching certificate. She holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies from the University of Kentucky. She is an Associate Professor of Spanish and Latin American Studies at Centre College where she teaches all levels of Spanish Language and interdisciplinary courses that address topics such as violence, the production of space, and body representation in Latin American cultures. Núria Sabaté has lived in France, Italy, and Mexico and through her exposure to different languages has become interested in using art to support language learning and social awareness. She is particularly interested in the application of performance art and theater techniques in the foreign language classroom.
